The majority of our appointments are pre-booked although we do have some on the day appointments.
All Doctor appointments are for 10 minutes and are for 1 problem only, to ensure the Doctors clinic can keep to time. Double (20 minute) appointments can be booked if you feel your problem will need more time.
Appointments can be made by the following ways:
Our practice has been enabled to take online appointment bookings with the GP. In order to make use of this facility you must be registered as a patient with us and you will need to register for this service. Please bring 1 x form of photographic ID to the surgery and the reception staff will create your online account. Once registered you can access the service via the link at the top of this page.
Please ring the surgery or call in to make a routine appointment. The telephone number to ring to make an appointment is 0116 236 2531.
If you feel you do not need to see a doctor but a telephone consultation would help please also ring 0116 236 2531 to book this. Telephone consultations are booked at the end of morning surgery although a specific time cannot be guaranteed as emergencies have to take priority. Please be prepared to briefly inform the receptionist the reason for the telephone consultation request.
Urgent cases will be seen by the duty doctor. Please be prepared to wait if the practice is busy on the day.
Emergency appointments telephone 0116 236 2531.
Extended Access Appointments - from 1st October 2018
We are increasing the number of appointments available for you to see a GP in the early mornings, evenings or at weekends across West Leicestershire.
Depending on your individual circumstances and symptoms, we may offer you an "extended access" appointment. Please note however, that these appointments will not be in your usual GP practice and may not be with one of your usual GPs or Nurses.
Depending on the reason for your appointment, and if you are in agreement, it may be suitable for you to see and Advanced Nurse Practitioner, instead of a GP.
The clinician you see will be able to access relevant sections of your medical notes and will communicate what has happened during your appointment back to your usual GP practice.
These appointments will be available at the following locations:
Loughborough Urgent Care Centre at Loughborough Community Hospital
Coalville Community Hospital
Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital
If you would like to know more please speak to a member of the practice reception team.
The doctors, nurses and other staff who work within our practice recognise the sensitive nature of intimate examinations. Patients of either sex may feel more comfortable with another person present whilst they are being examined.
You may wish to bring a friend or relative with you for your consultation or alternatively the practice can provide a fully trained chaperone for you (this could be a trained receptionist or member of the nursing team). Please let the doctor or nurse know if you require a chaperone.
In the event of a chaperone not being immediately available due to pressure of time or staff shortages it may be necessary to rearrange your appointment.
Any concerns regarding the conduct of an examination should be brought to the attention of a member of staff as soon as possible.
SMS Text Message Reminders
We send appointment reminders via a text message for all appointments (excluding telephone consultations). Please ensure we have your up to date mobile number to take advantage of this service.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
